We are always working together on new strategies and supporting one another without fail so that we can learn from and with each other. Our new colleagues feel part of our ‘Bode family’ after only a short time. As sales experts, we are guided first and foremost by the needs of our valued customers. Through fair, reliable, and tailored solutions, we achieve our goal of a long-term and sustainable customer-supplier relationship. The diverse customer structures in both wholesale and retail, as well as our worldwide export business, make our day-to-day work especially varied and exciting. Every day we work on interesting projects and look forward to working with different personalities. Our expertise and enjoyment in handling raw materials enable us to process orders quickly and keep freight costs low with short delivery times. From private-label products to full container loads — we always have a solution for our customers.

We also enjoy spending our breaks and evenings off together with our office dogs in nature. Our location on the outskirts of Hamburg provides the perfect backdrop for this.”

“Our products come from the most diverse countries: from sun-ripened tomatoes from Italy to sultanas from Turkey and cashews from Vietnam. Whether the quantities are small or large, we place great importance on ensuring that our responsible purchasing team member carefully manages each product. This allows us to make sure that we always have goods in stock in top quality, at a fair price, and in the right quantity. Along the way, however, there are always challenges to overcome: from obtaining numerous documents to rejected samples and analyses, delivery difficulties, and negotiating minimum shelf life dates. That can leave the odd gray hair behind. But we are proud not only to be professionals in purchasing, but also in solving problems! And it makes us all the happier when our goods arrive successfully, and we like to celebrate that together.”

Our many products and tasks are incredibly exciting and varied. But the best thing about working in purchasing at Bode is that this diversity is also reflected in our team: we all bring different experiences and interests, yet still work hand in hand. There is always time for a quick chat or a hearty laugh.
An exciting everyday life in quality assurance:
“Welcome to the exciting world of quality assurance! There is always something going on here, because every day brings new challenges. Over the past five years, our headcount has doubled: today we are a dedicated team of just under 15 people, including working students and interns. Our tasks are varied and range from incoming goods inspection to quality-assurance support throughout the production process of our mueslis, nut mixes, and more. We carry out regular hygiene checks to ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards. We support our suppliers and customers closely, assist our colleagues with questions and problems, and are always looking for solutions to ensure the best possible quality.
As an organic importer, we have to undergo an organic inspection three times a year, as well as audits for our food safety standard IFS Broker and our Fairtrade certification. Despite all these challenges, we never lose focus on our daily harmonious working relationships, which for us are the guarantee of a dynamic and successful working day at Bode.
And what else?
We are proud to be a rather young and committed team that also meets outside of work for a drink at the Christmas market or a good pizza. We live the team spirit and support one another, whether with good advice or a helping hand.
Insight: Introducing Marketing and Product Development:
“Since 2016, we have proudly presented our organic products to the world and are committed to the continual further development of our product range and packaging. Originally a one-woman show, we have now become a successful team of five that firmly stands by its values, such as good and affordable organic products and innovative concepts. We design our homepage and shop, manage our social media channels, organize trade fairs, and write newsletters. We create all of our content ourselves. Our team brings together a wealth of creativity; everyone has special strengths, and we channel them toward our company goals. We have a lot of fun filming videos for Instagram, creating graphics, and evaluating our marketing campaigns. In product development, we discover new trends and continuously improve our products. That is how a better crunchy was born too—without industrial sugar, without palm oil, and vegan! Bode Naturkost makes it happen! Our business partners can count on an innovative and sustainable way of working as well as professional collaboration with our team. We are proud to share our products and values and, together, make organic food accessible to even more people.”
And what else?
We bring together not only our talents, but also our passion for nature. With family and friends, we like to let off steam with sports or get creative artistically. When cooking, we enjoy experimenting with new ingredients and surprising ourselves and others.
IT reports:
“We have many interfaces and developments here, and that means you need not only a fast network but also powerful servers. In our department, you can see not only how fast-paced our times are, but also how we are developing within the industry—our projects keep piling up, and we must always stay up to date in order to consistently deliver the best performance possible. We equip every workstation, from network connection to peripherals, and ensure that our network grows with us: to do that, everyone needs the right hardware and software! Our operational infrastructure and data traffic are kept running through our maintenance work. To get the right brain food for our high-speed performance, we are well fed by our colleagues from the other departments. The great thing is that a lot of it is nutritious—our nut mixes (and homemade cookies too) keep us up to date.”

Helping others is our occupational disease, and it follows us into our free time as well: programming and development are our passion there too, alongside music or family time.
