“In these fast-paced and challenging times that we are currently experiencing, it is all the more important to strengthen teamwork. In sales, we therefore place great value on teamwork and on a good, appreciative working relationship. We are always working together on new strategies and supporting one another continuously so that we can learn from and with each other. Our new colleagues already feel part of our ‘Bode family’ after a short time. As sales experts, we are guided first and foremost by the needs of our valued customers. Through fair, reliable, and tailored solutions, we achieve our goal of a long-term and sustainable customer-supplier relationship. The wide variety of customer structures, both in wholesale and in direct sales, as well as our global export business, makes our daily work especially varied and exciting. We work every day on interesting projects and look forward to working with a wide range of personalities. Our expertise and enjoyment in handling raw materials enable us to process orders quickly and keep delivery times short with low freight rates. From private-label products to full container loads, we always have a solution for our customers.
What else is new?
We enjoy spending our breaks and evenings off together with our office dogs in nature. Our location on the outskirts of Hamburg provides the perfect backdrop for this.”
Finest goods in purchasing:
“Our products come from a wide variety of countries: from sun-ripened tomatoes from Italy to sultanas from Turkey and cashew nuts from Vietnam. Whether it involves small or large annual quantities, we place great value on ensuring that our responsible purchasing team member looks after each product carefully. This is how we make sure that we always have goods in top quality, at a fair price, and in the right quantity in stock. Along the way, however, there are always challenges to overcome: from obtaining numerous documents to rejected samples and analyses, delivery difficulties, and negotiating minimum shelf life dates. That can make more than one person’s hair turn gray. But we are proud not only to be professionals at buying, but also at solving problems! And it makes us all the happier when our goods arrive safely, and we like to celebrate that together.”
What else is new?
Our many products and tasks are incredibly exciting and varied. The best thing about working in purchasing at Bode, however, is that this diversity is also reflected in our team: we all bring different experiences and interests, yet work hand in hand. There is always time for a quick chat or a hearty laugh.”
An exciting day-to-day in quality assurance:
“Welcome to the exciting world of quality assurance! There is always something going on here, because every day brings new challenges. Over the past five years, our staff has doubled: today we are a dedicated team of almost 15 people — including student workers and interns. Our tasks are varied and range from incoming goods inspections to quality-assurance support throughout the production process of our mueslis, nut mixes, and more. We regularly carry out hygiene rounds to ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards. We work closely with our suppliers and customers, support our colleagues with questions and problems, and are always looking for solutions to ensure the best possible quality
As an organic importer, we have to undergo an organic inspection three times a year, as well as audits for our food safety standards IFS Food and IFS Broker and the Fairtrade certification. Despite all these challenges, we never lose sight of our daily harmonious teamwork, which for us is the key to a dynamic and successful working day at Bode.
What else is new?
We are proud to be a rather young and committed team that also meets outside of work for a drink at the Christmas market or a good pizza. We live and breathe team spirit and support each other, whether with good advice or a helping hand.”
Insight: Marketing and product development introduce themselves:
“Since 2016, we have proudly presented our organic products to the world and stood up for sustainability. Originally a one-woman show, we have now grown into a successful team of five that firmly stands by its values such as organic and sustainability. We design our homepage and shop, manage our social media channels, organize trade fairs, and write newsletters. We create all our content ourselves. Our team brings together a wealth of creativity; everyone has special strengths, and we align them with the company’s goals. We have a lot of fun filming videos for Instagram, creating graphics, and evaluating our marketing campaigns. In product development, we discover new trends and continuously improve our products. That is how a better crunchy was born too — without industrial sugar, without palm oil, vegan, and packaged without plastic! That’s what Bode Naturkost does! Our business partners can rely on an innovative and sustainable way of working as well as professional collaboration with our team. We are proud to share our products and values and to shape a better future together.”
What else is new?
We combine not only our talents, but also our passion for nature. With family and friends, we love to let off steam through sports or express our creativity artistically. When cooking, we like to experiment with new ingredients and surprise ourselves and others.”
IT reports:
“We have many interfaces and developments here, and that means you need not only a fast network but also powerful servers. In our department, you not only notice how fast-moving our time is, but also how we are developing within the industry — our projects keep piling up, and we must always stay up to date in order to consistently deliver the best performance. We equip every workstation from network connection to peripherals and make sure that our network grows with us: everyone needs the right hardware and software for that! The operational infrastructure and our data traffic are kept in shape through our maintenance. To have the right brain food for our high-speed performance, we are well fed by our colleagues from the other departments. The nice thing is that there is a lot of nutritious stuff included — our nut mixes (and also homemade cookies) keep us up to date
What else is new?
Helpfulness is our occupational disease, and it follows us into our free time too: programming and development are our passion there as well, alongside music or family time.”
