As a family business with a long tradition, we combine experience with fresh ideas and a clear view of the future. Our team works closely across departments, shaped by mutual respect, responsibility, and reliability. “In these fast-moving and challenging times that we are currently facing, it is all the more important to strengthen teamwork. Here in Sales, we therefore place great value on team spirit and a good, appreciative way of working together. We are always working together on new strategies and supporting one another continuously so that we can learn from and with each other. Our new colleagues feel part of the ‘Bode family’ after just a short time. As sales experts, we are guided first and foremost by the needs of our valued customers. Through fair, reliable, and tailored solutions, we achieve our goal of a long-term and sustainable customer-supplier relationship. The diverse customer structures in both wholesale and retail, as well as our global export business, make our everyday work especially varied and exciting. We work on interesting projects every day and look forward to working with different personalities. Our expertise and enjoyment in handling raw materials enable us to process orders quickly and keep delivery times short with low freight rates. From private-label products to entire containers—we always have a solution for our customers.”

We also enjoy spending our breaks and evenings together with our office dogs in nature. Our location on the outskirts of Hamburg provides the perfect setting for this.
The finest goods in purchasing:
“Our products come from a wide range of countries: from sun-ripened tomatoes from Italy, to raisins from Turkey, to cashews from Vietnam. Whether it is small or large annual volumes, we place great importance on ensuring that our responsible purchasing team member carefully looks after each product. This way, we make sure that we always have goods in top quality, at a fair price, and in the right quantity in stock. On the way there, however, there are always challenges to overcome: from obtaining numerous documents to rejected samples and analyses, as well as delivery problems and minimum shelf-life dates to negotiate. That can easily turn a few hairs gray. But we are proud not only to be professionals in purchasing, but also in solving problems! And it feels all the better when our goods arrive successfully, and then we like to celebrate together.”
And what else?
Our many products and tasks are incredibly exciting and varied. But the best thing about working in purchasing at Bode is that this diversity is also reflected in our team: we all bring different experiences and interests, yet still work hand in hand. There is always time for a quick chat or a hearty laugh.”
Exciting day-to-day work in quality assurance:
“Welcome to the exciting world of quality assurance! There is always something going on here, because every day brings new challenges. Over the past five years, our workforce has doubled: today we are a dedicated team of almost 15 people - including working students and interns. Our tasks are diverse and range from goods-in inspection to quality-assurance support for the production process of our mueslis, nut mixes, and more. We regularly carry out hygiene checks to ensure that all products meet the highest quality standards. We look after our suppliers and customers closely, support our colleagues with questions and problems, and are always looking for solutions to ensure the best possible quality.”
As an organic importer, we have to undergo an organic inspection three times a year, as well as audits for our food safety standard IFS Broker and Fairtrade certification. Despite all these challenges, we never lose sight of our daily harmonious cooperation, which for us is the guarantee of a dynamic and successful working day at Bode.”
And what else?
We are proud to be a rather young and committed team that also meets outside working hours for a drink at the Christmas market or a good pizza. We live the team spirit and support one another, whether with good advice or a helping hand.”
Insight: Marketing and product development introduces itself:
“Since 2016, we have proudly presented our organic products to the world and have been committed to continuously developing our product range and packaging. What began as a one-woman show has now become a successful team of five, firmly standing by its values, such as good and affordable organic products and innovative concepts. We design our website and shop, manage our social media channels, organize trade fairs, and write newsletters. We create all our content ourselves. Our team brings together a wealth of creativity; everyone has special strengths, and we align them with the company’s goals. We have a lot of fun filming videos for Instagram, creating graphics, and evaluating our marketing campaigns. In product development, we discover new trends and continuously improve our products. That is how a better crunchy granola was created too—without industrial sugar, without palm oil, and vegan! That’s what Bode Naturkost does! Our business partners can count on innovative and sustainable working methods as well as professional cooperation with our team. We are proud to share our products and values and to make organic food accessible to even more people together.”
And what else?
We unite not only our talents, but also our passion for nature. With family and friends, we like to get active in sports or express ourselves creatively. When cooking, we enjoy experimenting with new ingredients and surprising ourselves and others.”
The IT department reports:
“We have many interfaces and developments here, and that means you need not only a fast internet connection but also powerful servers. In our department, you can see not only how fast-paced our times are, but also how we are developing within the industry - our projects keep piling up, and we always have to stay up to date in order to consistently deliver the best performance. We equip every workplace from network connection to peripherals and make sure our network grows with us: for that, everyone needs the right hardware and software! The operational infrastructure and our data traffic are maintained through our care. To have the right brain food for our high-speed performance, we are thoroughly fed by our colleagues from the other departments. The nice thing is that there is plenty of nourishing stuff - our nut mixes (and also homemade cookies) keep us up to date.”

Being helpful is our occupational disease, and it stays with us in our free time too: programming and development are our passion there as well, alongside music or family time.”
