IFS Broker

This standard for food producers certifies the food safety and quality of processes and products. IFS Brokers must be applied to all companies primarily involved in "trading activities“ and who themselves choose their suppliers, purchase or trade in the goods from them themselves and then have deliveries made directly to their own customers, charging these customer for such goods directly, without themselves ever having come into contract with the product.

Fairtrade

The independently controlled Fairtrade seal stands for fair trade and the empowerment of small farmers and workers in Africa, Asia and Latin America.

Fairtrade promotes better working and living conditions as well as environmental and climate protection.

Only products that meet the requirements of the international Fairtrade standards are allowed to carry the Fairtrade seal. Important components of the standards are, for example:

• A stable minimum price, as well as regulated minimum wages.
• A Fairtrade premium for community projects. The producers themselves decide how it is to be used - for example, for investments in health protection, education or improving product quality.
• The prohibition of forced labor and exploitative child labor.
• Prohibition of discrimination.
• A premium for organically grown products.
• Environmental standards that limit the use of pesticides and chemicals and prohibit genetically modified seeds.

Products of Fairtrade

Fairtrade stands for ethical practices, sustainability and transparency - building a bridge between producers and consumers. Buying Fairtrade products makes a concrete contribution to sustainably improving the living and working conditions of smallholder families and workers. In Germany, the seal is awarded by Fairtrade Deutschland e.V.. Over 1.9 million people in 71 countries are currently affiliated with the Fairtrade system.
